We will attend several festivals or live events during the next weeks. Starting with our own screening with Strange Shorts Vol. 10 in Berlin on Dec 30 (left image is from the show last week), we continue at the Asian Hot Shots Festival in Berlin (Jan 13-18). We hope to meet ots of filmfans and filmmakers - and to aquire some great asian short films, of course.
End of January we will travel to Clermont-Ferrand - it is the biggest annual short film event with more than 150.000 visitors. We are very much looking forward and plan to live blog our trip, of course. We will come back on Feb 5, on time for the start of the 59. Berlinale. It is one of the three big A festivals and with more than 450.000 visitors the biggest film audience event. We are looking forward to great films and lots of shortfilm-related side events. On of them is the next big screening of Future Shorts Berlin in the beauiful Admiralspalast on Feb 6!

We love subtitles as a way to make films more accessible. So from now on we support creators of new subtitles with a free pro account (3 months). Most of the films on rathershort can be subtitles by all users.
After the text is entered the film owner has to approve the subtitle to make it availabe online. So just enter subtitles for one film and send us an email after its approval! We hope to see lots of new subs, hehe!
This summer rathershort was awarded a prize for innovation by VDI/VDE at the IFA trade fair in Berlin including financial support of 5000€. Andreas just send me a link to some pictures of the award ceremony. Looking backwards we can say that we enjoyed not to wear suits, hehe (30 degree celsius day!) ...
We integrated a nice overview about recently posted reviews and best rated reviews. This makes it easier to find films that have got lots of feedback!

Tomorrow we celebrate the 2nd birthday of our shortfilm screening event "Strange Shorts". We will present ten outstanding films together with live music by "the incredible herrengedeck". Amongst others we will welcome Tobias Wiemann, Franzi Preuß and Marjorie Bendeck with new films and on stage together with moderator Bomber. Andreas works on improvements for the festival maps. He just updated the feature so one can now see festivals nearby directly linked to their profiles. We think this is a cool way of browsing the festival world, so their will be more to come =)
I just wrote a little plugin for browsers (Firefox 2 and IE 7 should work) that includes the rathershort.com festival search in the normal search box.
We will put this into the sidebar in the festivals area soon.
